How to score it yourself

  1. 1Give each statement 0 to 3. Leave it out if you are not sure.
  2. 2For each area, add your scores, divide by three times the number of statements you answered, and multiply by 100. An area needs at least two answers to be scored.
  3. 3The lowest area is the first to examine. Areas within 5 points of it are joint priorities.
  • 86–100% Strong, by your answers
  • 67–85% Developing consistency
  • 34–66% Inconsistent systems
  • 0–33% Foundations needed

Choose one change for the next 30 days

  1. 1Pick one specific point of friction rather than attempting a full technology overhaul.
  2. 2Record what happens today, who owns it and where it fails.
  3. 3Agree a measurable improvement: fewer missed handovers, faster confirmed responses or fewer manual copy steps.
  4. 4Choose the simplest fix that works. Sometimes that is process ownership, sometimes a defined product, an integration or an agent.
  5. 5Review the result with the people who use the workflow.
